nipogi ak1 plus n100 keeps crashing

Post by remip »

Just got my NiPoGi AK1 Plus 16Go DDR4 512Go, with Ubuntu 24.04 installed, but the system just keeps crashing and rebooting (from a few seconds after boot to max 1 hour)

Is there some tweaks or driver issue or I have to return the defective product ?

Regards,

Did this issue start just recently or was it already present with the stock Windows installation? Could either be a hardware fault or just software related

I didn't use the original OS, since it was a Windows Home preinstalled, not usable for me (no remote desktop, no hyper-v ...)

It's likely some kind of driver issue(s), though I'm not versed enough in Linux to know what.

My advice would be to put Windows back on it and see if the problem is there with Windows. You'll likely have a difficult time trying to return it as defective if the problem you're having with it is with an OS it did not come with.

So, with Windows reinstalled, it's more stable but it didn't pass the night. HDMI output is a distorted image, no response to keyboard, no network response...

Remip, time to state the obvious, but what do the logs say? /var/log is a good starting point in any Linux installation, and guaranteed something got logged if the system decided to reboot itself.

As Gabe and others have said, the system comes with Windows and that is its supported OS from your vendor, but there should be something you can do to troubleshoot this.

Unfortunately, nothing is logged on files before the crash (nothing shown either with dmesg -w)

The ak1 with windows 11 keeps freezing/crashing after a few hours in idle state

Nothing to see either in the windows event log.

That's highly unusual for nothing to be logged; what were the last entries found before the system crash?

And you mentioned nothing found in the Windows Event logs, but you're running Linux, so how were you checking Windows?

I reinstalled windows 11 to test the system stability.

Anyway product returned, someone who have the same AK1 n100 tell me he has months of uptime without any crash/freeze.
