I have a T5 and I had a problem with the option to automatically turn on the device after a power outage.
The device always changed the option in the BIOS.
Although the clock kept the correct time, I suspected it was the battery. I replaced the battery and it started working normally again, maintaining the power settings.
After 1 year, the same problem occurred again. Apparently, based on the battery code, it would be rechargeable. I wonder if anyone knows if the device actually charges this battery?
Does the t5 charge the BIOS battery or not?

No. CMOS batteries are not recharged. Once they're too weak to keep the BIOS settings they have to be replaced.

Hi Gabe!
Thanks for replying.
That's very strange, because the original battery I removed and replaced is an FDK model ML621(see attachment). The datasheet for this battery says it's rechargeable.
Are you sure the T5 doesn't charge the battery?

Re: Does the t5 charge the BIOS battery or not?
Yes. I'm sure. No PC, including the T5, recharges a CMOS battery.
It's likely a battery that's intended for devices that can recharge or keep a charge on a button cell battery. That doesn't mean you can't use it in the T5 like any other 3V button cell battery of the correct size, but it won't be recharged.

Thank you very much for the information.
This explains why the battery does not work for long. This type of rechargeable battery has a lower capacity than non-rechargeable batteries. Without charging, it will only work for a few months.
