boardbro,
Other than checking to ensure that no drivers are showing as having a problem or missing, I'm out of ideas. You can check that fairly quickly by looking in the Device Manager. Any problem drivers will stick out like a sore thumb.
I hope the admin replies soon.
Edit: And yeah, that is odd about the reply notifications. I think you're jinxed. J/K! LOL.

Not to worry; I can live without the TF feature. But I feel it worth 4.00 USD if I can surmount this hurtle so I spent that much to order an actual TF card. I'll have that in hand in a couple more days and try it -- that ought be a definitive test.

boardbro,
I asked the testers, they tested SD cards larger than 64GB but ignored the 8GB SD card. You can replace it with an SD card larger than 64GB for use.
I hope it helps you.

I purchased a 64 GB SD card and it goes in the slot on the PC and yes, it is recognized and fully useable. I am mystified however that I previously had so much success inserting the smaller capacity cards, where they would go in and lock and later need to be pushed in slightly to be released.
No wonder I met a snag using this feature on my AK2: the cards need to be inserted with the contacts facing UP!
Enough said. I thank you all, bye-bye.
