Is it possible to reformat the drive that windows 10 is on and install Linux instead? What changes do I have to make in the bios?

You'd just have to install Linux to the unit, which would replace Windows. The installation processes with most Linux distros would format the drive for you. The boot change in the BIOS would be automatic.
